It is an open-source language, having available a vast number of libraries and tools. It is also integrated into the most popular GIS software, such as ArcGIS and QGIS. For these reasons, it is a valuable computing tool for the analysis of spatial and non-spatial data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop is aiming to familiarize the participants with this language and its use in a GIS environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is divided in three sessions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1<sup>st<\/sup> session: Introduction to programming with Python. Its special features are that they are freely available to all scientists and of high spectral, spatial, and temporal analysis.
